Whole30: Week Four

As part of my Whole30 experience, I’m documenting my meals and notes about how I feel along the journey. Below, you can view the list of the foods that I ate during Week Four of my Whole30 elimination diet. You can also view recipes for everything in the meal plan below. The links for tasty recipes go to my personal recipe collection at stphne.com/recipes. For recipes I would not cook again, the links go to the original recipe.

I like to cook on the weekends and eat a lot of leftovers during the week. To really enjoy your leftovers, you can use a microwave and a toaster oven. Use the toaster oven for items that you want to be crispy. This can also dry out food, so add extra moisture or microwave things that don’t need crisping in the oven. You can also use your oven to reheat items, but it takes longer and makes your house hot in the summer.

NOTES

Below are my notes about how I felt or any symptoms that I saw because of the diet change.

  • Day 22 – My skin and mouth are dry. No idea what’s causing that. Energy is decent. I can actually get stuff done the entire day. Haven’t had that since my doctor reduced my thyroid meds 4 months ago.
  • Day 23  – No noticeable change
  • Day 24 – No noticeable change
  • Day 25 – Still 3 BMs a day. Energy is still good. Hungry all the time. Eating 5-6 meals per day. Still having trouble with muscle pain in my neck and shoulders.
  • Day 26 – No noticeable change
  • Day 27 – I’m still having 3 BMs per day, but beginning to get constipated, so I reduced my IBS-D medication. Otherwise no change.
  • Day 28 – Still 3 BMs per day, but softer now. Otherwise no change. Still hungry all the time but with good energy. Muscle pain continues.

TMI NOTES

In the too much information (TMI) category, below are some additional notes specific to female issues.

  • Day 22 – Period is all done! No hormone problems!
  • Day 23  – No noticeable change
  • Day 24 – No noticeable change
  • Day 25 – Still no hormone problems. The 50% increase in the hormone levels from changing birth control seems to be working.
  • Day 26 – No noticeable change
  • Day 27 – No noticeable change
  • Day 28 – No noticeable change
